Simon Canning - Partner

Simon Canning is a 25 year business veteran with experience in The Americas, Australia and the UK who is passionate about optimizing business results.

Simon’s experiences range from building inside sales and service teams, centralizing technical dispatch, to travel technology project management, to retail development. After running a number of small businesses Simon was the first president of Flight Centre in North America.  Subsequently he spent 11 years in leadership positions with Sabre Travel Network in Canada. Some of his projects there included retooling a sales and service team that produced an increase in market share by 11 points, leading a change management initiative for team building, and relocating a first line helpdesk from North to South America.

Simon is dedicated to providing best in class management practices in order to improve the bottom line. Simon consults to business to solve commercial, technical, and personnel challenges to optimize productivity and profitability. Recent engagements include designing and centralizing an inside sales and service team, negotiating large and complex technical sales, and leading seminars on team charters.

One of Simon’s skills is his ability to use creativity and a sense of humour to enable difficult conversations and improve relationships.

Simon graduated with a BSc from the University of Birmingham UK, and a Management of Technology (MoT) MBA from Simon Fraser University in Vancouver Canada. He is active in the community as Vice Chair for Vantage Point, as a business mentor for the Vancouver Board of Trade, and as a boys’ rugby coach.
